October is “Preach for Truth Month”—an invitation to (re)commit to truth as a core value in the life of faith.  Not heard of “Preach for Truth Month” before?  It is probably because 2025 is the first one.  But it won’t be the last!

While we encourage preaching about the topic of truth throughout the year, our network has a particular commitment to preach on this topic each year during the month of October.  October tends to be a “quieter” time of year for communities of faith—fewer major feasts or celebrations.  (Though this is not always the case.  In 2025, Yom Kippur will fall on Oct 2- 3!) In the U.S., it also is the month preceding our significant elections, so a time when questions related to seeking truth, being truthful, and being true to each other across difference weigh heavy on the hearts and minds of our congregations.

We invite all preachers to identify at least two services each October when they might speak particularly to the value of truth for people of faith.  Below find preaching samples from a variety of preachers especially intended for the month of October.
